International Food Exhibition Celebrates Cultural Diversity at National Medical Education Conference
SKUMS international students showcased traditional dishes at a food exhibition, celebrating cultural diversity and exchange during educational events.
Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences (SKUMS) hosted an International Food Exhibition alongside the 27th National Conference on Medical Education, the 19th Shahid Motahari Festival of Educational Excellence, and the 8th Festival of Student Innovative Educational Ideas. These national academic events were held simultaneously at medical universities across Iran in a hybrid (in-person and virtual) format.
Organized on the sidelines of these national academic events, the International Food Exhibition provided an opportunity for international students at SKUMS to present traditional dishes from their home countries and share aspects of their cultural heritage with the university community.
The exhibition attracted considerable interest and was warmly welcomed by visitors, creating an engaging atmosphere of cultural exchange, interaction, and appreciation of international diversity.
During the event, several senior university officials visited the exhibition, including Dr. Salehifard, President of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences; Dr. Soleimani, Vice-Chancellor for Education; Dr. Jalil, Vice-Chancellor for Treatment; Dr. Hasanpour, Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology; Dr. Yadollahi, Dean of the School of Medicine; Dr. Lorigooini, Head of the International Affairs Department; and Dr. Farhadkhani, Head of the Education Development Center (EDC), along with other university officials.
Their presence reflected the university's support for initiatives that promote cultural diversity, international student engagement, and intercultural understanding.
The International Food Exhibition was a valuable opportunity to highlight the cultural richness of SKUMS's international student community and strengthen connections among students, faculty members, university administrators, and visitors.
Through initiatives such as this, Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences continues to promote an inclusive academic environment in which cultural diversity and international engagement complement educational and scientific activities.
