Education

The mission of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is to train specialists in the fields of biostatistics, epidemiology and even broader areas of health and medicine. Graduates of this department can play a role in medical sciences research, the use of statistical topics in health assessment and evaluation in different areas of the health system.

In addition, this section pursues other goals as outlined below:

Teaching epidemiology and biostatistics courses to students of other departments.
Holding workshops on study design, data analysis and article writing.
Collaborate with regional, national and international research projects.
Investigation and identification of risk factors for disease and injuries.
Modeling and analysis of health data.
Working with the health system to solve health problems.
Methodological advices to improve the quality of research projects.
Collaborate in research committees at the university.
Teaching statistical software for students and faculty members.
Providing statistical advices for dissertation of students at different postgraduate levels in all medical, health and paramedical fields.
Collaborate with other domestic and foreign universities on collaborative research projects.
Collaboration and support of Epidemiology Laboratory at Health Modeling Research Center.
