The women's group of the Shahrekord Hajar Educational and Medical Center succeeded in giving birth to a 185 kg mother’s baby in this hospital by performing a serious surgery.

Dr. Leila Ahmadi, the obstetrics and gynecology specialist of Shahrekord Hajar Educational and Medical Center said that a 28-year-old pregnant mother with an initial weight of 160 kg had a good pregnancy with full care according to scientific standards, including perinatology, heart, and kidney consultations, and passed this period without complications.

She added: At the 39th week, this pregnant mother was finally admitted to the maternity ward of Hajar Hospital in Shahrekord due to hypertension, with a weight of 185 kg and a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 59.

Dr. Ahmadi added: After a week of labor induction under the supervision of the women's group and with the great efforts of the midwifery group and women's assistants, this mother underwent an emergency cesarean due to the lack of response to the labor induction, increased blood pressure, and the risk of pregnancy poisoning.

It is noteworthy that cesarean surgery with such a weight is rare in the province and the country and was successfully performed with the skill and experience of the surgeon and anesthesiologist and the hardworking and caring staff of the operating room.

According to the gynecology and obstetrics specialist of Shahrekord Hajar Educational and Medical Center, currently, the general condition of this mother and her baby daughter is good and satisfactory.
