The head of Shahrekord Hajar Medical Training Center said: The specialized surgery to remove a myopathic uterus weighing 5 kg from the abdomen of a 57-year-old woman was successfully performed.

Explaining this news, Dr. Neda Seifi said: The patient was referred to the hospital with symptoms of frequent bleeding, and with the diagnosis of Dr. Setare Fatehi, a superspecialist in gynecology at Hajar Hospital, she underwent surgery.

She added: The surgery to remove the uterus suspected of sarcoma, weighing 5 kg and measuring 20 x 30 cm, was successfully performed for two hours in the operating room of the Hajar Medical Training Center in Shahrekord.

According to her, the patient's general condition is currently good and satisfactory.

In response to the question of when a hysterectomy is performed, Dr. Fatehi, a superspecialist in gynecology, said: heavy bleeding during menstruation, long-term pain in the pelvis, the presence of non-cancerous tumors (fibroids), ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, cancer of the cervix or fallopian tube in the uterus, infectious diseases, endometriosis, and adenomyosis are among the diseases that lead to surgery and removal of the uterus.

It is worth mentioning that myopathy, or disorder of the skeletal muscles, is a type of muscle disease in which muscles lose their function, resulting in muscle weakness.
